Andy,
The "path speed" is the lowest speed for the assigned turnouts and blocks.
The block speeds are set in the Block table entries. ?You can see the speed of each block in the Speed column. ?The speed for a specific block can be changed. ?The "Speed -> Defaults" menu item can be used to change the default speeds. ?Unless changed, the default speed will be Normal.
Turnout speeds for each turnout are set in Turnout table entries. ?The speed values are normally not shown. ?Select "Show Turnout Speed details" to see the speed columns or edit the turnout and select the Speed tab. ?Turnouts have two speeds, one for the Closed state and one for the Thrown state.
The default turnout speeds can be set using the "Speeds -> Defaults" menu item. ?I normally set the default thrown speed to Medium. ?That works better for the signal systems that I use.
The "path speed" is used to select an aspect from the "aspectMapping" list. ?Here is an example:
??? <aspectMapping>
????? <advancedAspect>Clear</advancedAspect>
????? <ourAspect>Clear</ourAspect>
????? <ourAspect>Limited Clear</ourAspect>
????? <ourAspect>Medium Clear</ourAspect>
????? <ourAspect>Slow Approach</ourAspect>
????? <ourAspect>Restricting</ourAspect>
??? </aspectMapping>
If the next aspect is Clear, there are five choices for the current signal mast. ?The selected aspect will depend on the path speed and route type.
Note: The route type is Normal if ALL turnouts are closed or diverging if ANY turnout is thrown.

Can somebody explain how path speeds get set between signal mast in the signal mast logic table please. i seem to get "normal", "restricted" and "not set" in my table and I have no idea why! I need to sort these speeds out for auto train running.
thanks
Andy
