Phil,

Check your settings. I use a mouse for the GUI screen. Right click the task bar on an unused space, select panel settings, select advanced. Properties, check both make window managers treat the panel as dock and Reserve space. I think that should do what you want.

I'm running Steve Todds JMRI image on a RasPi and I've noticed that when you move open windows around, they are "in front" of the task bar and not behind it

And not just JMRI windows, but that's the primary use

Is there a setting i'm missing somewhere that allows windows to slide "behind" the taskbar??
