Locked Re: Problems getting ¡°connections correct¡± 5,5.7

I haven¡¯t been able to find a message in JMRI that talks about the connection prefix not being correct.

The connection prefix is defined on the Connection page in the preferences. It¡¯s usually L for a LocoNet connection. You could check that.

If that¡¯s already there, could you give me the exact text of the error message? Thanks.

Bob

Thank you for your reply
A)...For the connection prefex problem that I am requesting information for to help me fix the problem I somehow created, I hope this will provide what you requested. If not please let me know and I will do my best to provideb what you need. I am using a HP Microsoft computer connected to DCS 240+ command station using the DCS240 + input connection as listed on the JMI connection software.

B) I have discovered a second problem which may be part of what I screwed up with the connection prefix. On the files page that requests the files location, on the second one it requests what file location is needed fore scripts When I enter the file location for scripts (second one), the JMRI system well work one time but when I try to use it the JMRI system a second time, some how part of the location gets changed and JMRI will no longer operate. I get a report telling me that the file could not be located.

I hope I have provided what is needed, I am 86 years old and have a hard time using my hands to type. If you need anything else I will do my best to provide it. THANK YOU. Frank W.
