Hi Ron,
I try to use the term train "Manifest" as the document that shows all the work a train needs to perform.? With a Manifest there isn't a need for a switch list.? A switch list is the document used to describe the work performed at a location for all trains, you don't need a switch list, it is optional.? Yardmaster Fred however would like a switch list to prepare for the various trains, it provides a list of all trains that will be worked at station B. He could however just wait for Engineer Bob to show up with his Manifest, and use the train Manifest to perform the needed work. There's an option to reduce the amount of information on a Manifest if the train works a location that has a switch list.? Engineer Bob would need a Manifest at the very least to understand which locations his train is travelling to, and if there's work at any of those locations. If there isn't a Yardmaster there with a switch list, Engineer Bob has to do the work, and needs a Manifest in that case.
See the "Truncate" option for Manifest.
