Hi Peter,? V4.18, the version I just downloaded a few days ago from the website. My first foray into JMRI. If it makes a difference, I have nothing to connect it to. I am building an Aruino Mega/Motor Shield setup, but the shield hasn't arrived yet. So I used simulator mode. If I load the VSD and the Throttle and get them connected ( and I am a little unsure of how even that works since the user interface is a pretty convoluted process), I can press the horn button on VSD and it makes a sound. If I press F1, F2, F3 on the throttle, nothing happens. But if I increase the throttle slider, the engine sound increases as it should, so something is connected to VSD. I have two JMRI setups just to play with them, learn how it works, and look at the Java code. So this 4.18 production release is running on a Raspberry Pi and on a Windows 10 laptop. I try things in both environments to see if it behaves the same on both. And so far, if it works or doesn't work on one, it behaves the same way on the other.
