Just to let you know that the install did not change.

I had trouble deleting several of the registry entries due to a permissions problem.
I deleted 2 "Keys" JMRI matches & 9 "Values" JMRI matches.
I did change one thing on the install:
Previously I had clicked to also install the SoundPro & the Optional Tools & Demos, IIRC.
This time I did not check the?SoundPro option.
BUT it was included in under the JMRI program app???
The logs were not deleted???

I'm going upstairs & stare at the stupid TV.
Almost as frustrating.

Tomorrow I will start the uninstall, registry, log, & my 1 roster entry.
I'm seriously thinking of installing JMRI on my other desktop.

First, I have to clean up the "workspace" while trying to make sense of all the paper I've printed.
Almost?as bad as IBM, 12 lineal feet of manuals with every new system we ordered.
BUT, the info was there, you may have to hunt but it was there.

Steps I'm doing to use to remove all references to JMRI:
  • Uninstall JMRI
  • Back up the registry
  • Go through the registry deleting references to JMRI?
    • Found 6 Keys items
    • Found 24 Values items
    • Found 55 Data items
      • The data items that are Office products I've produced I will leave
      • All my Office products are on E:\
      • JMRI is installed with all the defaults & ALL users on C:\
  • Now the conundrum, do I install 4.17.6 or do I go back to 4.16???
    • 4.17.6 is probably the best choice because of the newest decoder choices
      • I currently have the Walthers Mainline Wabash F7A-B units
      • They have the ESU Essential Sound Unit decoder????
      • Story for another day
Okay, I will start this process in a couple of hours.

If you had to manually clean up the registry, you should follow the instructions below:

JMRI Cleanup Windows

If you may have multiple JMRI versions installed, possibly one for "All Users" and one for "This User only".

- Go to Control Panel-> "Programs and Features" and keep uninstalling JMRI, refreshing (F5) every time until all are gone.
- Then navigate to "C:\Program Files (x86)\" and delete any JMRI folder if present.
- Then navigate to "C:\Users\<yourusername>\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\" and delete any "\Program Files (x86)\JMRI" folder if present (you'll need to enable display of hidden files/folders).
- **Don't delete** "C:\Users\<yourusername>\JMRI\". It has your data.
- Then reinstall JMRI for "All Users".
