I found the data sheet for the MRC 1961 ¨C it is dated Aug 2015.? I think this decoder is recent enough to allow speed table use at 128 speed step operation.? (Found sheet on the GaugeMaster page ¨C European distributor of MRC DCC.)

The instructions do have this statement for programming the speed table ¨C ¡°.? .? .? Then select throttle to 28 speed steps and run your loco at speed step 1. Use program CV on the main to change CV67¡¯s value (1-255) to adjust step 1¡¯s speed.?

I don¡¯t see a stated requirement for 28 speed step operation to use the speed table.? You may want to try 28 speed step operation if you verify CV29 is set correctly and the speed table still seems to not be functional.

I noticed MRC¡¯s ¡®preference¡¯ for using POM ¨C my preferred programming method especially for speed table setting.? DecoderPro is a great ¡®tool¡¯ to facilitate POM.
