Phil:
the Condensed Code is a fantastic resource for operating on Western
(West of the Alleghenys)?? TT&TO railroads! ALL serious operators
should have a copy in their grip. ?? However, if you are modeling a
prototype signal system you will find they were highly idiosyncratic
(almost every Railroad did them a little differently) so it is very
useful to find the appropriate rule book from your prototype
(usually available on eBay for about $20 if you wait a while) and
the era appropriate ETT which will usually have all the Special
Instructions (and most of the unique -- shall we say funky? --
signals are addressed in the SIs).?? It is also handy to have as many
photos as possible of signals on the subdivision(s) in question at
the date being modeled.?? Think rivet counting on freight cars!??
Since you're going to do the work anyway, why not model the iconic
and unique features of your prototype?
