If you only use 'System Names' then you are stuck because those are the actual hardware connections, and changing the hardware obviously requires different connections. However if you have used 'User Names' for each item, then you can move that association to a new system connection. (one by one) The importance of this is that you will not need to change all the places that use each item like you would when using the system names to identify items.
