The system will now connect and talk to the controller. I was able to control a train and power on and off the system although whilst running the train I did get some timeouts and sluggish behaviour.
Those two things could be related.
Unfortunately, there are commands the elite doesn¡¯t send an XpressNet reply to when the XpressNet protocol documentation says it should. We have special code in place to handle the elite interactions where we know they differ, but I am sure there are cases we don¡¯t cover.
When JMRI is expecting a response, we either have to see the response, or we time out. While waiting for one of those two things to occur, we can¡¯t, per the protocol, send out another request.
Without having an elite to test with, I am a bit at the mercy of users like you who are willing and able to test.
