This is interesting. I had not known it. I tried using both Programmer mode (with DecoderPro) and Command Station mode (with PanelPro) right now just to ensure that I was using the right thing. Neither worked.

You can't set the address of your DS51K1 in Programmer mode. You must be in Command Station mode with power on.

From the specifications of the decoder, it says that it takes a maximum of 0.5A. Does it mean that it cannot be used with Command station since it uses 3A in the Pi-Sprog setup??

That's not a problem.

The last question, does CV reading work for stationary decoders like DS51K1? I tried reading CV 01 but I get an error ("No loco detected") which I assume is because the Decoder is not responding to the DCC command.?

The majority of stationary decoders don't support CV reading. Some support blind CV programming on the program track and/or main.

From what I see, I don't think the DS51K1 falls into any of these categories.

Setting Accessory Decoder address on the main by setting a jumper/pushing a button and then sending a Turnout Command with the wanted address applies to almost every Accessory Decoder.
