¿ªÔÆÌåÓýYour layout files (and any associated files) should always be stored in the User Files Location (Help->Locations->User Files Location) of each computer. If you do that, JMRI will make sure all file references are stored in our Portable Format, which means all internal references are relative to the User Files Location and it doesn't matter what computer you are using. I have my User Files shared between many computers (Mac, Windows and Linux), each with multiple profiles and all with different paths to User Files Location. It is best to move User Files Location outside your Profile Location. That way you can easily create multiple Profiles (e.g. a Real and a Simulator profile) simply by the Config Profiles->Copy command. Your suggestion of using D: (or a folder therein) as the User Files Location is fine, if overkill. Note that it wouldn't matter at all if one was D: and one was E:, the portability takes care of that. Please look at these help pages: <> <> (Don't ignore the Dropbox help file because you are not using Dropbox. The same principles apply to any sharing and it has an illustrated work-through.) Note that for Panel portability you also need to ensure the Connection Prefix (Preferences->Connections) is the same for every computer/profile. Otherwise your turnouts, sensors panels etc. will not load on all?computers/profiles. I suspect this may be your problem... --?
