I am using JMRI as a stand alone programmer.? I am not using it
through a DCC system.? The setup consists solely of a piece of
track, Digitrax PR3, and a computer with the JMRI software on it.?
I will need to check the current output of the power supply that I
am using, but it is 18 V output.? I have had trouble with power
supplies of lower output (14-15 V).? The problem seems to be that
JMRI is not getting a response back from the decoder (Error 308).
I tried manually selecting the Paragon3 Steam definition, but that
did not solve the problem.

I had similar problems with the BLI N-Scale M1a/b when it
came out a few years ago.? I was using a Digitrax PR3 and could
not program nor get a clean "Read All Sheets".? I switched from
a 14VDC wall wart to a 18VDC regulated one and things got better
but not consistent.? So I switched to a SPROG 2 and had no problems
with the BLI's after that.
