Hello. ?I tried to change the DCC address on my NEW Atlas Gold Series GP7 HO locomotive which is factory equipped with an ESU LokSound Select Sound-Decoder. I have the Digitrax DCS240 and have it connected to my computer using the PR3 connection on the DCS240. ?I use the very latest release of JMRI DecoderPro. ?I use the direct bite programming on the CV's in an attempt to down load the CV's in the decoder as my starting point for any future needs I may have. ?Rather than reading everything (Downloading) which I understand takes a very long time to do, I downloaded everything to DecoderPro using the READ function on the CV's.... ?I then tried to change the DCC address and the decoder appears to be locked up. ?The programmer keeps giving me the error code..."No acknowledgement from the decoder (308). ?I cannot READ or WRITE anything to the decoder. ?I use the programming track function.
Can any one give some instructions on how to get DecoderPro to READ and/or WRITE to this Decoder? ?Have I somehow destroyed the decoder? ?
As an additional mystery, after I made this attempt to READ the new decoder, the Decoderpro file indicates a Decoder address of 112 and the loco responds to the 112 address. ?The engine number is 107...I cannot get Decoderpro to change the DCC address to 107. ?Each attempt to READ or WRITE gives me the (308) error message. ?Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated....THANK YOU...Frank in Houston..
