I have managed to get my turnouts operating from my iPad. It was knowing where to start from:- Panelpro Tools Tables Turnouts Click on the ADD button bottom left. Typed in the number for the turnout (1) and SYSTEMNAME MRT1 was added. I then added a USERNAME and with a Group name as advised, YARD:1 After a quick test from the iPad, I then added the rest of the turnouts, with Group names of Term (terminus), Loop , etc; I could then sort them on the iPad by Username, so all the Yard turnouts were together, same with Term, etc I did this while connected to the layout and command station (MRC). Also, for any other newbies, this layout already had the decoders in place for the turnouts, all I wanted to do (and did!) was to get the control from my iPad. Thank you for all the help with this, and for all the hours put in by all the developers, really appreciated by myself and I am sure many others. Ken B -----Original Message-----

The key feature is to have the "User Files Location" match between the two profiles. That way all the saved file details are the same directory. Because it is two different profiles, the connection details (real vs simulated) are separate. If you want to access (edit) decoder details, also update the roster path to match. So first confirm the path details in the working live profile. Then make a new profile that you set to use the same roster and 'User Files' as the live profile. Edit the connection to use the simulated MRC connection. -Ken Cameron, Member JMRI Dev Team www.jmri.org www.fingerlakeslivesteamers.org www.cnymod.com www.syracusemodelrr.org |
