I only input system names for the sensors at the point of placing the sensors on the panel. ?Those were the names that sometimes had the "IS" prefix added in the configuration file. If I understand the process right, user names can only be input in the sensor table? ?I hadn't done that yet, but I understand that would be a good idea.
I created a folder (Rummy's...) in the ProblemsBeingWorkedOn folder (thank you for the suggestion!), and I uploaded the configuration file (what I call it) that "builds" the panel for my layout as it exists now. ?I'm kind of embarrassed because I'm new to JMRI and PanelPro so I expect a lot of you experts will look at what I've done and have a good laugh! ?But we all have to start somewhere, right? ?The layout depicted in the panel is about 75' of mainline track (HO) and represents about 20% of the mainline that will exist on the finished layout. ?I picked the simple end of the track plan to begin layout construction and wanted to get JMRI, Digitrax & loconet, detection, etc., started, so I added a temporary return loop shown on the left side to get some trains running.
As I said, I'm a rookie with JMRI, so I'm open to all suggestions and input. ?That also means I may get that deer-caught-in-the-headlights look when you make some suggestions. lol
