Got it ¡ I have tried the stock Stretch image, and all the networking runs fine. And I agree ¡ debugging everyone's network setup from afar is impossible. I admit, that when the new image did not pick up my DHCP the first time, I started fussing with the?/etc/dhcpcd.conf file and now I certainly have made a mess of it.
I saved one SD card with your original image (with the 192.168.6.1 WAP), and it works great for running the trains. It just does not allow me to connect to the Internet to do browsing or other online stuff at the same time.
