JMRI doesn't use the registry. The NSIS installer would make an entry in the installed programs list.
You need to disable your virus protection while installing it. Make sure you get a good download from

Yes, as I said in a reply to Dave, I have completely uninstalled everything jmri - and gone completely through the registry. The Java is the latest one. When I installed the jmri, it goes as far as "Instlled - jmri uninstall" and then hangs. Everything seems to load OK when I start up jmri - including looking for a connection to the command sation. It's just that when any request is sent to the ZTC 611 unit nothing comes back - the errors are 303 and 311.
