Billybob,
Yes, that makes a lot of sense! I was checking out all the signal head types in JMRI and "Quad" seemed to be a type that would work, but it had four spots in which to enter turnout addresses but no place to indicate the state, e.g. "Thrown" or "Closed" for that switch command.
The LDT seemed to have what I needed. I'll experiment with it.
In the meantime I have this working in CATS following Rodney's advice, that being, to simply indicate the turnout command for each aspect of each head of each signal within the CATS designer file. Tedious yes but it worked.
I'd prefer eventually to go to signal heads in JMRI because there are parts of the layout that I automate and I'll want to be able to "describe" the entire layout in Layout Editor (Panel Pro) so the automated dispatcher can run trains into and out of staging as well as running them for open house etc. (I'm now using another software product for the automated running but am working on migrating to 100% JMRI).
Thank you for all the help!
Sincerely,
Steve
