Should this work?I have a location called Republic Steel, which has some 15 spurs. ?It is served by 13 trains operating from RSC Yard to the Steel mill spurs & back. ?These trains lift from interchange tracks in RSC Yard which only accept cars destined for Republic Steel. The mainline connects to the mill via the West Perryville interchange. ?Inbound tracks at this interchange are only allowed to accept cars destined for Republic Steel. ?The inbound tracks are allowed to be used by mainline trains for set out only. ?The interchange transfer runs are only allowed to lift cars from these inbound tracks for delivery to RSC Yd which has tracks set-up for receiving car destined to Republic Steel. In effect, one crew handles the interchange transfers from the mainline interchange to RSC Yard. ?A second crew does all the mill lifts and set-outs from RSC Yd to the mill spurs.
It seemed to work for a while, but now, a whole bunch of cars show up at the West Perryville interchange, and do not move on from there. ?Reviewing the destinations for these cars, they are all indicated to be sent to West Perryville, but have no Final Destination indicated. ?Why do these cars show up on this track?
I'm missing some understanding here about how cars are forwarded. ?This isn't the only location where I have cars showing up, only to have no where to go. ?The manual says this can happen if one is not careful, but I think I have been careful in this regard. ?How do I correct this??
I used to have West Perryville accept cars for West Perryville and RSC Yd, only to have cars show up there, use the transfer run to RSC Yd, use another Transfer run to get them back to West Perryville, and then back on a mainline train off to staging. ?I thought restricting destinations to only Repuplic Steel at both West Perryville and RSC Yd. would stop that. ?It seemed to for a while, but now I have these cars at West Perryville that aren't going anywhere.
Best regards,
Mike
