I have a similar timeout issue with my setup (WiThrottle on Phones). From
what I've been able to track down, my problem appears more to be my Wifi
network, not my old slow laptop. I actually brought up a packet sniffer,
and didn't even see the packets hitting the laptop in a timely manner, so
eventhough you have a "strong" signal, you may still be getting
internference from other networks nearby, or someone else on the same
wireless network may be hogging all the space.
