Top menu bar

Virginia Heywood-Jones

A program I recently installed placed a drop down window on the very top menu bar (the one in line with the colored apple). I have trashed the program, used find to discover any other files for the program and trashed them. I still can't get its drop down window off the menu bar.

This is probably something very basic (and outlined in every manual known to mankind) but I still can't figure it out.

Help, please.

Hi Virginia;

What application was it?
It is probably an extention which can be found and turned off in the
Extensions Mananger control panel. They usually include the word "menu" in
the name of the extension, but not always the name of the program at least
the way you would search for it.

This is my first posting to the list. I just subscribed this week. I hope
to be able to contribute to the list regularly. I am a Macintosh Support
Specialist for Indiana University, and a lifelong Mac user.

Happy Holidays to all!

And sometimes a control panel or program installed in extensions. CP
for PPP Menu I believe, Program for Palm Desktop are examples.
