Acrobat fails to see TIFFs

Recently I've encountered a problem with Acrobat Distiller, versions 3 and 4.
When I print from QuarkXPress 4.1 to PDF I very frequently end up with PDF
files which do not include the TIFFs which were part of the XPress document.

Note that I say "frequently;" often the PDF file is perfect.

Also, if I save the XPress file as an EPS (from the file menu in XPress) I
create an EPS that *can* be distilled with all elements complete.

The expression "Duhhhh" springs instantly to my lips.

I appeal to the Mavenhood of the List.

Thank you.

Graphic Converter is great. It even makes web pages with thumbnail
links to larger images. You have complete control over sizes, etc.
Photoshop also has a similar feature. There are other apps that also
do this.

I'd love to find one that would convert my photos to a quicktime
movie slide show. This would make a simple way of sharing photos that
can be reviewed quickly, sent as attachments, archived, etc.

This setting results in helping each user think twice about sending a
message to the group. It helps those who do not think about it, or do
not know, to not send private or personal messages to the group. List
discussions are not prohibited at all. This helps keep
unnecessary postings out of the list. Please post responsibly.

Try using the web interface where you can reply to a posting and then
click a pop-up list to choose the group address. You can also change
your settings for digests, individual or web-only messages. I am
writing this response on the web interface now.

Enjoy I/O MUG!

I agree. Having replies go to the author kind of prohibits list discussions,
don't you think?

PS. OE and Entourage's mailing list manager can override the default reply
address, just FYI.

egroup individual messages

The 'Reply-To' for individual messages should be set to
'iomug@...'. I am receiving messages that if 'replied-to' will be
addressed to the sender of the message. The digests, on the other hand is
configured properly.

Acrobat problems

Jon Bonner

I have Adobe Acrobat 4 as well as Acrobat Reader installed on my Mac.
Whenever I launch either of the two the program freezes. All I can do is
force quit, hope my entire system doesn't crash, then restart my Macintosh.

I reinstalled Acrobat and reapplied the updater, but it didn't help. So
basically I have no idea why it would be doing this. Any ideas?

Enter your E-mail address.

You probably have "forgotten your Password" (unless you are a regular user of Egroups mailing lists).

So go through the "forgot password" process.
It will be e-mailed to you within a minute (assuming your ISP processes e-mail that fast 8=}}).

Then log in and follow the prompts for your settings

Of course you can always use the command line oriented LISTSERV commands, if you want. 8=}} NOT.

Now that the USA has a finally chosen a new President we can get our NEW
mail list home rolling.
Hello, Mark and Michael! I thought I'd take a shot at making a (former)
Sedona resident the first to say hello and welcome back to the list. Let me
call the attention of list members to scripting web site (URL below) with
AppleScripts for Outlook Express and Entourage, and also to a larger
collection at www.applescriptscentral.com. If you use Entourage and have
been wishing for some little enhancement, odds are someone has already
scripted it! For instance, I just finished a powerful script to locate
duplicate contacts in your Address Book called "Duplicates Report".

All the scripts are free. Merry Christmas!

Batch Convert to picture clipping?

Does anyone know of an app that can batch convert images (primarily .jpg,

LOT of manual converting.

Thanks in advance.

Now that the USA has a finally chosen a new President we can get our NEW
mail list home rolling. Thank you all for your patience. There are a number
of additional features that eGroups provides. We would be glad to take your
suggestions. Our website <www.iomug.org> is still in operation. You should
have already received a password to use with login, which is the email
address you are subscribed with. You may login and change your settings if
you wish. Please let us know if you need assistance. The former location for
the mail list at the IOMUG@... address will close by the end of
the year or sooner. Again, thank you. More info follows...

Re: Digest Number 262

Arlis R. Tyner paused, thought it over, and spoke thusly:

"...and it would explode once a year for no reason,
killing everyone inside." Drawing a blank on the guy's
name, but he hosted a 'History of the Internet' type
special on PBS a few years back.

Arlis
Only Once a Year????? Wow, sounds like Oracle on an AS400 ~laughs~

All the Best,

ps. i was in the IBM 360 days, when you couldn't buy, you had to lease, and if you wanted one terminal more than 25, you had to lease, yup, another 360.

Re: Word 5.1a

Gino Landini paused, thought it over, and spoke thusly:

Brian, you must be incredibly old to remember all that ;o). Actually I do
and I have also been trying to find out the relative performance of a G4 to
the speed and other specs for the old Sage air defense computers that filled
an entire blockhouse. Can't seem to find a source.
Ciao,
Gino
can't help you on the Sage, there Gino, but, I'm pretty sure that a first generation G3 laptop would have been larger than Grand Central Station in NYC, back in the 60s

All the best,

MacPGP / Eudora Question

Hello,

Is there still a version of Envelope, it was an old app that served as
an interface between Eudora and MacPGP 2.6.3? Is there a way to incorporate
PGP into Eudora so that copying to and from the clipboard for
encrypting won't be necessary?

All the best,
BrianS
