[IC-7000] IC7000 Internal Clock Problem
Same problem here . I await any answer you may get because I have never pursued the matter but should have. On 2013-11-06 11:50 AM, "David Fox" <davefox73@...> wrote:

From 1979, the time of my licensing, to May of this year, I never had a rig with a clock. Most had tubes. Does the rig work? Do you make contacts? Get good reports? Very sorry, but I fail to see the problem. (Laughing a little bit... ;_) )Alex Netherton

KHz crystal in the radio for the RTC circuit. If there is no "padder" capacitor to adjust, the only solution is to replace the xtal. You would need to know the xtal "capacitance" as they are available in several types dependent on the RTC chip's needs. Perry K4PWO From: ic7000@... Has anyone else experienced a problem with the clock on the display losing time? After setting the time to WWV, I lose a minute about every two weeks and have to reset the clock. Rig is used as a base station and never used mobile. IC7000 is less than a year old. This there a simple fix for this problem. Dave W3FOX |

Back in the late 1950's I had a Hammarlund receiver with a clock.

Like you, I don't think it has a good use at all, and any clock that doesn't have at least a 60 cycle source to help it keep time, is questionable anyway. Why would anyone rely on it for any long term time keeping? Gary -- Web: NodeOp Page: Node 3055: |

I must admit I never look at the clock on my IC-7000.??? I'm more likely to look at the computer or VCR (used for ATV reception) than the radio for the time. -- 73 de Tony VK3JED/VK3IRL |

开云体育they advertised a clock you thought that would be great whats wrong with wanting it to be accurate? "Rich" On 11/6/2013 2:01 PM, John A Diefenbach wrote: ???

???It's as accurate as any other commercial battery powered quartz clock. It's the luck of the draw as to exactly how accurate any one clock will be - mine has lost 3 minutes +/- in two years. There's a small lithium cell in the radio to keep the clock running with power off. For exact timekeeping, I keep an inexpensive Atomic Clock on the desk.??? It's biggest problem is that it's position sensitive - unless it's angled just right with respect to WWV in Colorado, it only updates occasionally, depending on 60 KHz reception.??? With correct positioning, it updates every midnight - then is accurate to 1 second. Norm W6NIM |

开云体育Fearing that I may change this thread's direction , I am going to ask.?????? I talk regularly to a group of real gentlemen on 75 meters each??? morning . Some are more attentive than others about the ten ID rule. ??? Almost all are computer equipped and most have Atomic (or should I actually point out " Radio Controlled ) clocks . ??? Not wanting to waste too much time from our medical hour or the weather reports , we all ID at the same time . ??? ??? My computer nor my Atomic Radio Controlled clock is on the same time as the rest. ??? The clock??? & computer just reset themselves last Sunday morning and sure enough I am still almost seven seconds off from the group . My??? Watch took three days to find it's time but matches my computer & Shack clock with it's Atomic Radio Control . All three of my clocks are in unison which I trust as they differ equally from my Icom radio.??? Am I living in some kind of Time Warp or could??? my Radio friends be bullying me by deceiving their real time reports.??? I may have led a somewhat sheltered life and not recognize these conditions readily . ??? ??? ??? TNX in Advance ??? ??? ??? ?????? Chuck ??? ?????? Wq5B ?????? ???On 11/7/2013 10:18 AM, Norm wrote:
