Running an IC-7600 & IC-7000 with One Amp

Some of this may have been covered before, and if so, I apologize for possibly bringing some of it up again. I'm currently running in my shack, an Icom IC-7600 into an ARB-704 buffer interface into an Ameritron AL-80A (also the same as the Heathkit SB-1000 3-500Z) amp. All is fine and works great.

I also have an IC-7000 that I took out of my mobile that I'm now thinking about also running into the same amp (one radio at a time of course). And only using one antenna out of the amp. I thought I'd try it as opposed to letting it sit on a shelf or selling it.

I have a 5 position relay operated remote switch, an Ameritron RCS-8V, 5 inputs, one port out that will handle switching of the 2 radio's RF out, into an automatic "switcher", that will direct whichever radio is sending the keying signal into the ARB-704 first, then to the amp.

I believe, but am not totally sure if my IC-7000's HSEND keying signal into the buffer interface will work perfectly as my IC-7600 does keying the amp, with its 10ms TX Delay. There does not seem to be any option for setting a TX Delay on my IC-7000 as there is on my IC-7600.

So, to sum it up, any suggestions as to my concerns with keying the amp as I've outlined above, would be greatly appreciated. TIA

I used the ARB-704 with my IC-7000 and Heathkit linear. While the IC-7000 does use a relay it has a low voltage and current rating and would be an issue changing it out.
I am not aware of a keying delay for the IC-7000, but I never had any problems with it while I was using it with the Heathkit.?
After a while I bought an IC-2KL and AT-500 that integrated perfectly with the IC-7000 and later my IC-7600.
As an aside I ended up selling the IC-2KL and AT-500 and upgrading to a PW-1 when one offered itself at a good price. The PW-1 has dual inputs for 2 exciter/transceivers.?
I sold the three IC-7000s I had collected and wish I had another every day. They are just such a pretty little radio. Too bad Icom did not put a color display on the IC-7100!

I wonder if you couldn't force the IC-7000 power output down to 0 if you input a voltage on the ALC input of the Accessory connector (pin 6).

if it works you could build an external delay circuit to apply full ALC rollback for 10ms each time PTT is detected.
