The only information anyone has on the IC-7000 is what you have already read in the French Magazine..PERIOD... <grinning> There are ALWAYS a LOT of rumors. (The remark about OBB comes

to mind.) There is only one that traces back as well as the French ham radio magazine. And, not knowing the magazine's reputation, I cannot say for sure I even trust it. But there are ALWAYS rumors. (Joe told Bill who told me that someone at ICOM in Slobovia said......) That's just a quibble. So call me "The Quibbler" in honor of my cousin "The Riddler". {^_-} ----- Original Message -----

I have read Megahertz for about 10 years during mid 80's and I can confirm that it is a solid circulation.

In fact, when the rumor came out, I was surprised that it was from them since they are too serious sometimes for such rumors. -best On Feb 27, 2005, at 4:49 PM, jdow wrote:

I was concerned that it would be introduced much later at Japan hamfair 2005 in August, but looks like earlier introduction. -best On Feb 28, 2005, at 4:21 AM, Adam Farson wrote:

I would not call this information "rumors" anymore. The radio is real and is coming soon. We can only speculate on the specifications. --What a snow we are having in NYC today!!! On Feb 28, 2005, at 3:04 PM, Marty wrote:

heard a ham say he called his buddy at HRO today to ask if the price of the 706MkIIg had gone up (it had). When he said "Is the rumor true", his buddy thought he was asking about the IC-7000 and said all the rumors about it coming out were false. Like I said, for what it's worth. type at HRO. I think senior level management or such will know. We just wait and see. The 706 is an old but good radio. I got mine from the first shipment back in the 90s. It is just time for a replacement. Furthermore, looking at the R&D of Icom, they are done with the ultimate rig, the 7800, they are done with the replacement for the 756pro series, one should ask what they were designing next and that will be a mobile radio to replace the 706mk2g. Also, keep in mind that nobody saw the Pro3 coming....the pro2 is still on sale. So anything is possible. -best On Feb 28, 2005, at 5:55 PM, Marty wrote:. Actually, my good friend Matt KK5DR and I claim bragging rights for predicting a radio quite similar to the IC-756Pro3 as far back as mid-2003. We even came up with a hypothetical "precursor" to the IC-7800 which was not to far off the actual product. Cheers for now, 73, Adam VA7OJ/AB4OJ -----Original Message-----

Yes, I know! I have been following your site on that topic in the past. You bet. Your site is well informative. MKM or mab is fine for now:) p.s. that Kenwood / Icom deal worries me a little. We need more info on that. Kenwood has deep pockets and I would not want Icom to disappear. Yaesu & Standard did a similar takeover in the past. -Best On Feb 28, 2005, at 10:13 PM, Adam Farson wrote:

My local HRO is already admitting to the IC-7000 when they took my order and later confirmed the expected delivery..

They sell a lot of 706's every week so it is not a stocking issue as they will run through on hand stock several times before June __________________________________________________________ Howard S.
