Ham radio Deluxe
Hello group. A drunk drove into my house and caused a bunch of structural damage, so we had to find a place to stay while the place is being repaired. I got my IC-7000 new right after they came out and had only used it mobile. Not wanting to take my large base station rigs for the temporary set up, I decided to take the IC-7000 with. I am having trouble getting the HRD software to find the radio. I programmed the radio with RT Systems software and that went fine, but connecting to HRD is another story. I have got HRD to work with many radios over the years in the shack but had not tried to connect and used the 7000 for this purpose before. So I wondered if I need a driver? I looked on Icom USA and find nothing. I tried to download a different driver on the Icom site, but was unable to download anything. I am stumped. I am not even sure what I should be asking. Thanks everyone and good DX.

I use HRD and RTS 7000 control software often.
The RTS USB to CIV interface is easy and works well. USB ops in Windows can be problematic, make sure to disable power saving for all USB devices in Windows Power Management. The RTS control software works well for memory management in the IC-7000. good luck KM4RL Bob |
Good in to windows device manager and plug in the cable and see what com port it is using for the port, And see that there is not a yellow marker for this com port, if there is , you need a driver for the cable not the radio, Once you know the port you can then setup HRD, Good luck?
