Retransmission of Received Audio
Hello everyone: I am new to amateur radio so forgive me if I fail to use the proper nomenclature. And I am a proud owner of an IC-7000. Several of my local contacts who own Kenwoods have the ability

Re: [IC-7000] Social engineering (was: No subject)
Automatically clicking on links in eMails (no matter *WHO* they appear to be from), is a REALLY BAD IDEA. Additional clues were available in the original eMail: 1. No subject. 2. No real text. Be safe

Has anyone else clicked on this link? I did, thinking I was going to a site with tips on the IC-7000. Instead, I get a Fox News page talking about Dr. Oz and his raspberry breakthrough to weight

Re: 100% power with BPSK31?
PSK and almost every other mode does not require 100 watts. If you run the Icom 7000 at 100 watts on digital modes you are going to cause a lot of excessive heat in the radio. Sooner or later the

W3YY interface with MMTTY
I am trying to use the W3YY interface with the MMTTY program to run RTTY on my IC-7000. Can anyone suggest the right settings for MMTTY? So far, I'm unable to get the IC-7000 to transmit. I have no

Re: 100% power with BPSK31?
For what reason do you find it necessary to run such high power with a mode that typically is run with low power? KH2BR Sent from my iPad ?

Re: [IC-7000] 100% power with BPSK31?
Probably not, however, RTTY is a FSK mode. PSK is a sound mode and requires maximum linearity. You should run no more than about 1/3 of your radios maximum power and never any ALC. Set the radio at

manual states that it can deliver 100W on RTTY, which also is a You might also consider your fellow hams who share the 2-3 KHz spectrum of several BPSK31 signals. A 'high' power station may kick in

Re: [IC-7000] 100% power with BPSK31?
The audio is at the ALC sweat spot, at 1% and 50%+. So no problem there.

Re: [IC-7000] 100% power with BPSK31?
Hi it may handle the power but that is definitely not the way to operate a database. You will overdrive the signal. The best way is to set the IC 7000 to 100% and reduce the audio in level so that the

Re: [IC-7000] 100% power with BPSK31?
Hi Robert, Ik kom jou ook overal tegen ;) It probably won't hurt the trx, but the linearity will suffer causing excessive sidebands. Just increase power until you see the ALC come up. Back it down

100% power with BPSK31?
Hi! Can I harm the IC7000 when I crack up the power to 1005 in BPSK31? The manual states that it can deliver 100W on RTTY, which also is a continuous mode. -- Robert Elsinga =8-) PC5E
