May or June?
One of the benefits of putting the IC-7000? on order is that once your money is on the line someone will talk to you...Last week, Icom was denying that the product even exists.. so Saturday I put an

Re: Do our comments affect the design of the IC7000 ?
Actually, I do not want a tuner inside the 7000 either. Rather, I was talking about a proposed AH-5 which would be an AH-4 replacement. These tuners are external, long wire tuners.

Re: Do our comments affect the design of the IC7000 ?
All these wish lists sound more like "7800 Mk II G" rather than 7000. Allowing bandscope data to feed over the Ethernet remote control interface is something I forgot to mention. (And I admit I

Re: Do our comments affect the design of the IC7000 ?
Just a thought - the USB interface concept is "nice". But it is horridly short range. There is something to be said for the ability to have the radio on a somewhat longer tether than USB

Re: Do our comments affect the design of the IC7000 ?
Ditto's on the ethernet instead of USB. you can run a ethernet cable 300 ft I believe vs 15 for usb.

Re: 70mhz available on the 7000?
Hi Adam, Yes, I know! I have been following your site on that topic in the past. You bet. Your site is well informative. MKM or mab is fine for now:) p.s. that Kenwood / Icom deal worries me a

Re: 70mhz available on the 7000?
Hi Best (or should I call you MKM or mab?) Actually, my good friend Matt KK5DR and I claim bragging rights for predicting a radio quite similar to the IC-756Pro3 as far back as mid-2003. We even came

Re: 70mhz available on the 7000?
I think just few people at retail level know about it...not a buddy type at HRO. I think senior level management or such will know. We just wait and see. The 706 is an old but good radio. I got mine

Re: 70mhz available on the 7000?
For what it's worth (not much in my opinion) I was just reading the mail and heard a ham say he called his buddy at HRO today to ask if the price of the 706MkIIg had gone up (it had). When he said "Is

Hate to disappoint you guys, MWE has the information from here or rather Adam's site. (I know because I supplied the information via an other ham to him) Erik - OZ1ES

Re: 70mhz available on the 7000?
Marty, thanks for the good catch. It is a good reality check. I would not call this information "rumors" anymore. The radio is real and is coming soon. We can only speculate on the

Great, thanks for identifying them Adam. Looks like I made a good find, I was wondering just who they were! Marty

Re: Do our comments affect the design of the IC7000 ?
Since many guys have already placed their wishes for the IC-7000 (or probably for MKII or later), I will add mine below: My focus will be more on the interoperability features between the IC-7000 and

Re: Price check for the IC-7000
ICOM radios are made and assembled in Japan, I have been to the factory myself. outsourcing PCB fab, manufacture to price down are capability, are down.

Re: Do our comments affect the design of the IC7000 ?
correct, too late now but the mk2. Note to Icom: - I want digital audio IN/OUT. - I want a complete antenna system for the car a la atas-120, or a new AH-5 tuner that follows frequency change and

Re: 70mhz available on the 7000?
End of June then...we will see it at Dayton in May. I was concerned that it would be introduced much later at Japan hamfair 2005 in August, but looks like earlier introduction. -best

It is, however, probably too late for the IC-7000. Maybe the MK2... :-)

Hi Tom, Evidence, no. Nothing one could put a finger on. Nevertheless, informal conversations with Icom reps at various shows I have attended over the years suggest that Icom keeps an eye on
