Re: Price of the IC-7000
Hi Buck,
Yes, the IC-7000 will use DSP filtering in the final IF. This is the same
technology as used in the IC-756Pro series, the IC-746Pro/7400 and

Re: Thanks!
I believe that Dave was referring to the IC-7000 itself. The 7000 will
replace the 706 line; I am speculating that there will also be a low-power
version to accommodate the Japanese 10W licence. It

Re: Price of the IC-7000
Buck, I agree. The new rig could be 2 - 3 times more than a 706 (I hope not). Just like the Pro3 is 3 times the price of a 746Pro. This is only conjecture on my part, but is based on the price of

Re: Price of the IC-7000
Hmm, I think that's the same with mine. Maybe we should inform the
distributor that he needs to pack them better.
Thanks for the comments. It makes sense. I don't know what price the 706

Re: Price of the IC-7000
Buck,
DSP filtering and demodulation/modulation is also used in Ten Tec receivers and transceivers from the $329 RX-320D to the $3300 Orion. DSP filtering is not necessarily better that crystal

Price of the IC-7000
Hello to all and thank you to the moderator of this reflector.
Ever since I have seen the IC-7000, I have been reading and talking about
it. Like most of us here, I have considered it the new IC-706

Re: High Sierra Antennas and the IC-7000.
Keith, you make some good points. When the new one comes out, the older ones should have some great pricing.
I am a Pro3 owner, so this new rig as you said, looks like a mini-Pro3. I need to start

Keep in mind!, The 706MKIIG is a proven rig. I have never heard a bad one on the air.
In my case, I own 3 and have never had any problems with them over the past few years.

Re: Thanks!
Be aware that ICOM has not yet rolled out it's latest version of the 706MKIIG: it has been announced in France. We'll probably see it this summer or fall here in the states.

Re: High Sierra Antennas and the IC-7000.
I had been toying with the idea of the 706MkIIG for the truck. Only have a 2M/70cm rig in there now. Now I mna glad I waited. This sounds like the one I will want. I can't wait for more

miss 1.2G
No sign of announcement in Japan yet, but I'm sure the dream will come
true soon!
Wish it had a 1.2G also.
It might give a chance to Yaesu/Kenwood to make something like

Re: Announced in Dayton?
IC-7000 is likely the EU number...
The US Number will likely be IC-7XX where XX is to be determined.

High Sierra Antennas and the IC-7000.

I have been anxiously waiting for a new Icom Mobile. Every year at Dayton I asked the same question, and they say NO.
I own three 706MKIIg's. I have one in each vehicle, and a spare in the
