Re: Announced in Dayton?
Hi Alan,
That's 20mm (approx. 0.8"). 20cm is about 8".
(I grew up with the metric system. "Ye kynges ffoote" joined the stable much
later in my life.)

Past ICOM patterns?
What have the past ICOM patterns been for releasing new radios over
the years? Is ICOM France usually the fist place news is heard. Or is
this uncharacteristic? I was wondering if this would be a

Re: Announced in Dayton?
Are there any size specs on this radio yet? I wonder if it's going to be larger,
smaller or about the
same size as the 706 series.

Re: Announced in Dayton?
I spoke to Icom France (Country from where we first saw the ad) and
they confirmed that they expect to have more info shortly and that
the radio would see its days before the end of this

Hi Ken,
Only time will tell. If the worst case comes to pass and the product does a
no-show, I am sure there will be no hard feelings on our part!

Re: Announced in Dayton?
That would be a good marketing idea, but I don't really tnink so as
it seems to me (IMHO) that guessing or knowing what we users expect
is not that difficult. However the difficult part is to

Re: IC7000
Well, it is not in production yet so no one has seen it. But with the spec
set to HF 100w in almost the same package as the 706…A/T is not possible....

Re: Price of the IC-7000
Hi,
It reminds me of an ICOM engineer saying in an interview that IC-746
would be the last transceiver that uses conventional crystal filters
for IF.

Hi group, Dan here.(N1GXC) It looks like a nice rig and I'm going to
wait to see what the story is instead of buying a Yaesu 897-D or
other radio. I'd like it to be around $850-$1000 but I'll
