Re: Looking for a Replacement
Think I have another N-in-B IC-7000. Will check. What's it worth to you, sir?

Would you want to sell it to a guy who likes to work on blown up radios?

My IC-7000, installed on my boat, has died in a direct lightning strike. I would like to replace it with another, in anyone has one to sell.
Thanks

Re: software
I have found that even the cheapest Baofung (sp?) programming cable will work for the IC-7000 TTL logic rs-232. Buy one that says it will work with WIn 10 and cut the connectors off and take the two

Re: software
If your cable is trying to use a Prolific system driver, that is probably
the problem. There were so many Chinese clones of the Prolific chip set,
that they rewrote their drivers to not work with

Re: software
Hi Morrie,
I use the IC7000 software from here:
www.qsl.net/iz2nxf/
It is simple, and works just fine.

Re: LO off QRG
Steve, I'm using a cheap BNC to "Mini Test Clip" 50 ohm coax cable.? Similar to this: https://a.co/d/5stAcq1
You're right in that I probably was getting reflections -- that would make sense --

Re: LO off QRG
Nick,
At 124 MHz it is important to keep a relatively constant impedance path from P4 to the counter.? My 8924C has 50 ohm inputs and I used a 50 ohm 500 MHz rated scope probe, with a short barrel

Re: LO off QRG
Hi Steve,
I'm using a Aim-TTI TF930 to measure P4.? I just received the counter on Tuesday and was wanting to verify my REF OSC on my 7000.? In recent weeks, I noticed it was way off on USB/LSB

Re: connecting external monitor
This thread has got me thinking.
I have a 5" display currently but I am going to try a composite/usb capture
device
to route the ic-7000 display to a window on the PC and see how that looks.

Looks great with a small (7-10 inch) TV sets such

use with my go-box) DC operated and uses the
