Re: External Didplay
Looks interesting if you are using a Yaesu rig.
I don't think it will do you any good on an Icom IC-7000 though.
The 7000 has a composite video output.
Look around for the 5" to 7" back up camera

Re: ci-v usb ftdi CAT cable
Consider that the problem may not be in the FTDI driver, but in the installation of the software trying to use the driver (CI-V Scout, etc.).? Windows home edition does not have the same installation

Getting closer to figuring out what is going on but don't know how to resolve it. The problem seems to be with the way driver is installed. Checked with another almost identical to my laptop Acer 64

Adam…..
Different computers, different operating systems – I am sure you have methodically tried to whittle things down (and I am a brute-force kind of guy).
This may be obvious – but have you

Re: ci-v usb ftdi CAT cable
Glad to hear that you have the same cable from Valley Enterprises. I am
convinced it's not the cable problem because the cable from ZLP does the
same thing.
I am not running dual boot. Windows 11 Pro

Re: ci-v usb ftdi CAT cable
Hi Adam,
Challenging, to be sure. My assumption is that you are running dual boot (or are you using different PC for Win10).
And… you are using the same exact baud / bit settings between the two

Re: ci-v usb ftdi CAT cable
Thanks Glenn for the suggestions, I will review them again. I have gone to
the extreme and reinstalled Windows 10. Don't have much on that laptop.

Re: ci-v usb ftdi CAT cable
Hi Adam,
Yes… I have, with Win 10, Win 11, Linux, and MacOS.
Since you have it working on Win 11, not to overly complicate this, but you must look at the device manager (and the hidden devices).

Is anyone using the CI-V interface cable with FTDI chip on Windows 10 with Icom 7000?

My patience is waning now. Next to reinstalling Win10 in case there is something corrupt somewhere. I have CI-V using CH340 driver that I used till Windows decided to use only certified FTDI
