Gidday Tom, Hope you had a great xmas. In about 18 hours time we will walk into 2013, hopefully in great style <grin>. I bought the 7000 secondhand, but the seller had lost/misplaced the manual !

Re: [IC-7000] Auto tune help
Turns out I had forgotten to set ICOM into the menu selection using the MODE button on the MFJ tuner. Once I did that everything worked. 73, Dick W1HIL

Re: [IC-7000] Re: Ic7000 and the Icom PW1 amp
Hi Rick, No I had to get a special cable from Icom New Zealand, but it does not still seem to work. May have to go back to Icom to ask for more info, but they are closed for several days yet :-(

Re: [IC-7000] Re: Ic7000 and the Icom PW1 amp
Ian: I also use the IC-PW1 AMP. WITH THE IC-7000 no problems. Used a OPC-599 adapter following the IC-7000 documentation. If you are running both the radios off the Amp. You will need a RS-232 cable

Re: Ic7000 and the Icom PW1 amp
Hi Ian Although I am not familiar with your Icom 775DSP I did download a copy of the manual. From what I see the 775 requires a 8 pin plug for the amplifier hook up. The Icom 7000 requires a 13 pin

Re: Auto tune help
Dick -- For the SG-230 autotuner, SGC suggests saying "Aaaaaaahhhhhhhh" into the mic. That gives a pretty stable SSB signal to tickle the autotuner. So does holding the mic a foot away from your mouth

Re: Auto tune help
There is a menu setting in the MFJ-929 that has to be set to "Icom" before it will work. It is described on page 19 of the manual. I got nailed by that little detail when I bought my MFJ-929 a couple

That would be appreciated! It's a nuisance, but not impossible to reach across the table to get to the tuner 'tune' button. ;-) Hope you had a good Christmas, and all the best in the new year (that
