Re: Any experience with LDG Z-11 PRO II antenna tuner

It is an excellent auto tuner. It will match a wet string. I have had 2 of them and still own one now. Nice features include internal battery holders for AA batteries so it can be independently powered, like for POTA or Field Day use. I have used it in a tupperware container outside at the base of a vertical and it worked perfect. I had a blow molded pistol case it fit into and used that as the center feed point of an 80M dipole on all bands, 160M to 6M.?
Only a single antenna outlet but generally not an issue. It will tune with as low as a 1/4 of a watt output from the radio and is good for 135W PEP on SSB and I think 75W on RTTY or Digital.?
I keep mine in a harbor frieght?Orange Pelican style case and it makes a good grab and go device.?
The only reason I have the newer model is I made a serious BoBo. and the original Z11 didn't have internal battery holders but had a place to solder them in. You just mounted the holders with 2 sided tape to the tops of the enclosed Relays. Nice idea. Don't forget to use good batteries and check them like every couple of months, because I didn't and the batteries leaked all over the Radio Shack battery Holders I used. When I decided to replace the holders, I didn't bother to use a hair dryer or heat gun to loosen their grip on the relays so when I manhandled them out the tops of the relays all came off. OOOPS.? The factory said it was economically not viable due to the cost of the labor to replace all the relays. They did sell me a new on?with the battery holders factory installed at Dealer cost which, I thought was pretty nice considering it was my fault.? ?

Hello, just signed up for this group. I note some discussions about antenna tuners. We have not really tried one yet, but it was suggested to us to try the LDG Z-11 PRO II.

Any suggestions?
