Hi I have found the fault on the IC7000, it turns out to be a faulty inductor L51 near Q51 in the BUK converted that generates (or not) the 12V for the display, parts are on order.
I came across a Ic-7300 at a very good price and kept on working like nothing happened, came by at the right time too.?
?
I'm think about sourcing the pa's first for the ic-7000, otherwise the vhf/uhf bands work fine, and as for hf reception comparison with the 7300 I find it better for filtering out weak signals imho!
I have had two units with a dim display and one where the there is white light break through on the right hand edge, is? a replacment display the cure? what else could cause this?
?
what does the -15V do and the +12 V do from the BUK converter, PS I have had a few 100?H inductors die (in the Buk inverter) , but this will effect switch on.
