i DON'T BELIEVE THAT THE ic-7000 is compatible with the ATAS (Yaesu). The Yaesu radios have a DC output voltage that changes level to drive up and down or stop. The SWR meter and control circuit in the Yaesu controls the ATAS antenna and just having an SWR meter will not work for you.
One of the other screwdriver antennas could be used with either and UP/ DOWN switch or one of the screwdriver control boxes.
Most of the screwdriver antennas can be tuned for maximum noise on the receiver and be very close to the final SWR. A little fiddling will put you right on the money.
