Had the same setup installed in my 2001 dodge ram of course different animal never had any issue. Also have the 6” Hi Q and it kicks butt with my home brew back in college

Nice! Glad you figured it out. The 7000 is a great radio but they are sensitive to stray RF and low voltage.

Had other chokes wrapped it once through before the head and whala!! Problem fixed and 1KW out on all bands!
