You can do 300baud Packet APRS on 30m. And have the GPS sending your location.?

Don't hate me for a crazy question. Is there any way to connect my GPS to my ham radio and then use it as a emergency DSC call on my sailboat? A marine SSB will have a DSC emergency button that is pushed and the lat/long of the vessel is automatically sent. The DSC sets off a tone on other radios and turns of their squelch so that the message can be heard as well as sending a text message of the lat/long. I suspect this is impossible, but I was wondering if there is a way.
