Are you referring to the amplified click of the PTT switch in the hand mic when compression is enabled? ?In the Files area see ?7K PTT Spike with Compression.doc for RF envelope showing the problem, posted Jan, 2012.
There is also a spike due to ALC attack time in certain cases.
Neither relate to how much voltage and current are required to achieve rated TX power output.
