Assuming you installed the USB drivers *before* you plugged in the cable the first time, it should work as long as the com port and speed are am set correctly.?

The radio defaults to auto-negotiate on the com speed, which is from whatever, up to 19,200 baud. IIRC, the software defaults to 38,400 baud.?
Setting the software to 19,200 and leaving the radio set to default should work.?

Check device manager to see what com port windows has assigned to the cable and set the software to the same and you should be good to go.?
