Re: Send CW via FLDIGI or other...

There may be a way to send a form of CW with audio tones, but it's far easier to send with another device.

I use a RigBlaster Plug-n-play from West Mountain Radio for CI-V, CW and sound card digital modes. Around a hundred bucks and it works a treat. According to Tigertronics your Signalink should send real CW just fine, although I don't see a dedicated CW connection on the device.

From http://www.tigertronics.com/slusbts.htm#How%20do%20I%20operate%20%22direct%20keyed%22%20CW%20with%20the%20SignaLink - How do I operate "direct keyed" CW with the SignaLink - This is done by simply connecting the SignaLink's PTT and Ground lines to the "Key" and "Ground" lines of your radio's Key jack.? One of our un-terminated radio cables can be used to make these connections.? You will need to attach the appropriate plug for your radio's Key jack to this cable.? Using our SLCABNC cable, we suggest attaching the white/orange wire to the tip of the plug, and the orange wire to the plug's body/sleeve.? You will then need to install the SignaLink jumpers as follows; PTT to 1, and G (ground) to 2.? Note that direct keyed CW is limited to about 25 WPM on Transmit (there is no limit on Receive), so if you need to transmit faster than this, you'll want to run AFSK CW.

Personally I'd use a real CW device rather than the Signalink in this case, but then I run faster than 25 wpm. The Winkeyer WKUSB-SMT is an outstanding device found in many, many stations. http://k1el.tripod.com/wkusb_smt.html - inexpensive, easy to assemble, and above all it WORKS. Note that it won't decode CW for you, but I don't recommend using your computer to copy CW anyway, as it's unreliable too much of the time.

Hope this helps!
