Yes there is a book Ham Radio For Dummies. You can order it from Amazon. It is a very general and basic book but probably not a good book to learn about the basic features of your ICOM 7000. I found that the preamble to the chapters in the ARRL Handbook much more informative about what things do and how they operate. Of course the ICOM 7000 manual is a great source of information but assumes you know something about ?what things are. I think between the two you should be fine. For how to be a ham operator the ARRL books excel there too. Hope this helps.

I have not taken time to see if one exist but thought I would ask the group and shorten my research time to find such a book if it exist. I do not spend a lot time on the air, I use the hobby to experiment with kits and test equipment and am not an expert at that either. so if anyone knows of a good way to learn about the features of the icom 7000 via a book or you-tube let me know.
