Union Fears Destructive Consequences From Obamacare

Soooo glad I never joined a union...

This is a bad re-distribution of wealth for sure.

Those who re-elected Obama now need to eat his dog food.

For those of us with an FHA healthcare following our IBM career, there is no affordable healthcare following the FHA. Capping the out of pocket for premiums at a reasonable $4K a year beats the current mess: Some couples in their 50s are currently paying $14K+ a year for healthcare. That's not EVEN dog food. But I'm glad you like it so much.

Or, instead of eating dog, this IBM retiree grew fruit:

Well here we agree, onto the next thing (after September 10th, my last day). Got the veggies growing in the back yard - a bad day in the garden is better than my best day in the office! Some of the life skills we need to acquire are the most basic ones!

I think it's becoming increasingly clear that ACA is NOT the answer. Obama == BS

It's becoming increasingly clear that the ACA is NOT the answer to this nations Health Care System. It is so poorly structured, with so many loopholes, that it's intent will Never be achieved. But, then, when you consider that most of it was probably written by the Health Care Lobbyists on K Street, it becomes more understandable.

The plan being proposed for the State of Vermont may be the closest thing to a sensible solution for the nation. A SP-UHC system has been in place in many nations for decades, and it seems to work quite well. Hopefully, when the people of this nation get a belly full of our corrupted For Profit system, they will demand something similar.

more upset folks (with shingles):

The United Union of Roofers, Waterproofers and Allied Workers is reportedly the first union to officially call for repeal of the Affordable Care Act, aka Obamacare. The health care law is prompting some serious buyer's remorse in Big Labor, which worked hard on behalf of the administration to pass it...

Many of us pointed out the potential pitfalls of this path several years ago. We were shouted down as haters, fear mongers even called racist simply because we didn't believe in the hype of the program.
Those supporting the program didn't bat an eye when they were told "we must pass this bill so we can see what is in it." All they saw were the vapor promises.

I would like to know where this health care bill actually came from. Obama, Reid, and Pelosi are just puppets in this scam. They are politicians - there is no way they crafted about 20k pages of legislation in a couple months. This health care bill had to be on the shelf already. With the press today - we will probably never know.

This Health Care Bill....like most pieces of Legislation...was written by the Health Care Industry Lobbyists in Washington. ?Very few bills are Ever written by the Congressmen, themselves....instead they are written by representatives of the Special Interests, and the Politicians just "Sponsor" them. ?As such, you can be sure that hidden in the bowels of this Bill, there are ample provisions to protect those who are getting quite wealthy off the misfortune and illnesses of the general population. ?WE are merely Pawns in the Global Chess Game taking place among the ultra wealthy as they try to "Out Billionaire" each other. ?If you want to Really Know who runs this country, just go to Opensecrets.org, and see where these politicians get their campaign money....then go to VoteSmart.org, and study their voting record. ?It quickly becomes apparent as to who the Masters really are. ?We truly have the best government that Big Money can buy. ?

I suggest you contact your local person(s) that represent you in DC, rather than wait on any media to help you.

Some saw it coming:

While we await another Detroit bailout:

And, regarding authorship of Obamacare, look at the facts on Liz Fowler via your favorite news search engine.

Personally I don't see much difference between the two parties that rule our politics. There was a South Park episode where Kenny I think refused to vote and messed up the entire system. It was because he felt he only had a choice between a douche bag and a stinking turd. All either side cares about is remaining in power. Each side caters to a specific set of groups and design legislation to appeal to those voters. Face it most voters are pretty much single issue voters. One thing rises above all else and that is what sways them.
Now on the Health Care topic. I do agree something that big had a lot of lobbyist but I imagine a lot of it came from the original Hillary debacle where she tried to create a health care package in secret and it blew up in her face. Personally I am not opposed to a universal health care package funded by the people for the people. But the way it was done was doomed to failure. The way it tries to cover things and the way the people look at it as a "right" will push the country over the bankruptcy line faster than we are traveling now.
Interesting enough I heard part of an article last night about obesity and how much of the nations health care costs are caused by it. Add to it things like smoking, alcohol and drug use, poor diet and suddenly you find that if people were simply sensible and logical about their health, exercise and good diet we could drastically cut the costs of health care in this country and most likely afford to provide the needed coverage. But we want our right to be lazy and obese in ever growing numbers and we want to support the right to have sugar as the second ingredient in every can of beans on the grocery shelf.
