Re: Union Fears Destructive Consequences From Obamacare
Personally I don't see much difference between the two parties that rule our politics. There was a South Park episode where Kenny I think refused to vote and messed up the entire system. It was because he felt he only had a choice between a douche bag and a stinking turd. All either side cares about is remaining in power. Each side caters to a specific set of groups and design legislation to appeal to those voters. Face it most voters are pretty much single issue voters. One thing rises above all else and that is what sways them.

Now on the Health Care topic. I do agree something that big had a lot of lobbyist but I imagine a lot of it came from the original Hillary debacle where she tried to create a health care package in secret and it blew up in her face. Personally I am not opposed to a universal health care package funded by the people for the people. But the way it was done was doomed to failure. The way it tries to cover things and the way the people look at it as a "right" will push the country over the bankruptcy line faster than we are traveling now. Interesting enough I heard part of an article last night about obesity and how much of the nations health care costs are caused by it. Add to it things like smoking, alcohol and drug use, poor diet and suddenly you find that if people were simply sensible and logical about their health, exercise and good diet we could drastically cut the costs of health care in this country and most likely afford to provide the needed coverage. But we want our right to be lazy and obese in ever growing numbers and we want to support the right to have sugar as the second ingredient in every can of beans on the grocery shelf. --- In ibmpensionissues@..., Don Mininger <don_m64015@...> wrote:
