Start Capacitor value? Tone generator would not start. Motor very hot. Cooled it down, turned on and gave it a spin. Seems to work fine. Looked in Archive.org manual but having schematics in 3 sections makes it pretty hard to find.

Thanks.?

Part # would also be good.

120 volt 60hz or 234 volt 50 Hz power? The schematics specify 2.5uF for 120 volt organs, and I know the start capacitors in UK organs are marked 1.25uF. I also know from experience that either 1uF or 1.5uF capacitors work fine in UK organs. My usual supplier doesn't list a 1.25uF part, but I've never had a problem with either alternative.

Also, you would want a minimum 400V, preferably 600V, rating on that 1 or 1.5 microfarad capacitor.? (Admittedly I do not know what voltage is actually impressed on the capacitor during operation, but better to have the high voltage rating for anything connected to the mains.)

Perhaps I should have mentioned that the parts I use are specifically motor start capacitors. Something like this;
