I'm enjoying this lively discussion. I've repaired, rebuilt and modded my 145 (not to mention refinishing...oops, I guess just did :) over that last several decades but I've always tried to maintain the factory polarity of the drivers (I'm on the 2nd set of replacement drivers right now).?

My suggestion is: Why not install a polarity switch on one of the drivers to do some actual "A - B" listening tests? I'd like to hear what results you find. If you all keep this thread going long enough, I might even install this mod on my old 145 to listen for myself. If I do, I'll let you all know!
