That's a good idea. We definitely have more resources to choose from than
Hammond had in the early 30's!

I know a guy in the laser cutting business, too. He doesn't usually do
steel, but he's done up to 1/8" thick plate on occasion. He normally sticks
to wood and plastics.

But, I know another guy with a machine shop who also has a laser and a
water-jet. He cuts steel all the time.

Regarding the tonewheels,i don't know if they were stamped even
if they were
you would do it that way today.I have a friend that owns a laser cutting
business.He can cut anything,any size ANY shape.As long as a good
dimensioning is done his programmers can duplicate anything.All work is
cad/cam and is good enough for goverment work.
