Re: [hammond_zone] Dirt at lower leves WAS Re: BV question

Chris Clifton

Mike,
Using the 251/351 on A-100 or any other organ with Hammond's "stereo reverb"
(A-100, M-100 and E-100 + others?) puts amplified reverb sound on the
Leslie cabinet through a separate amplifier and speaker channel. No
spinning reverb here. When these organs are used with "normal" single
channel Leslies reverb only sounds from the organ speakers.

Chris;

I don't understand.
The Leslie 251 and 351 use the same 251 amplifier, have the same speakers.
The cabinet for the 351 is a firniture cabinet, just not the typical
luvered
leslie look.

The 251 was definitely the better match for the A-100 or M-100, it was a
very rare installation in these parts though. I can only remember
seeing
one A-100+251 installation within a 100 miles of here, most A-100's were
sold with 147's or 122's, not even the RV version most of the time!!!
If
you want to add reverb control to an RV Leslie, all you need is a
suitable
length of two core wire and a 100 ohm wirewound variable resistor.
Mount
the control in a suitable place on the console. Break into the wire
from
the reverb amp. to the speakers and wire the variable resistor in series
with the speakers.

Thanks Chris...I am beginning realize that the A-100 console control
is
virtually useless unless you have a 251 Leslie.

Laddie,
The reverb control kit for the *RV Leslies is a switch, you have a
choice of
off, medium or full. The full level is set by the control on the RV
amp.
