Paun lost only the seventh round to Ritold and were the only pair to win eight rounds. It is just as well they had a clear win, as Don misclicked in the auction on Board 17 and they reached 5D rather than 3NT. While this is normally not a good thing, Pul tied for top by escaping with -1, as 5D required a harder to lead to find for the two-trick set that was easy against 3NT. Andbot and Ritold both finished 7-2, while Mattbot, Leighry and Tasnot won six rounds. Tasnot had a scorching run on Boards 11-15, scoring 69.5/70 matchpoints for those five boards and giving them a real shot at winning overall.

Board 12 had the identical Failure to Alert at two separate tables. Both Wests did not Alert their Flannery opening bids, after which two Norths overcalled 2S on a five-card suit, albeit a good one. One table reached the normal result when South bid 3C. At the other table South passed 2S and I adjusted that result.

On Board 4 the most popular contract was 4Sx N, which was played six times. Board 5 was the only hand on which all fifteen tables played in the same denomination (although Boards 10, 16, 17 and 18 were only prevented from this by an accident at one table), although not quite the same contract - one pair bid Gerber and went down in 6NT while everyone else was in 3NT from one side or the other.
